Common Sense Education's Privacy Initiative

Overview

Common Sense Education developed a privacy evaluation initiative to help districts, schools, and teachers make more informed decisions about the apps they use with students. The platform currently has more than 300 evaluations of popular edtech apps based on safety, privacy, compliance, and security. It also includes an Information Security Primer for district and school technology leaders who want to learn more about evaluating the information security practices of educational software. Common Sense Education also is working with the K–12 educational software industry to simplify and standardize privacy policies.
