Multiple Access Points for Tech Support

Overview

With the shift to remote learning, technology became a hallmark component of this new modality for learning. Teachers, students, and families needed access to the necessary content and platforms that were required to engage in remote teaching and learning. To address technological needs, Mendon-Upton Regional School District found multiple ways to engage with and support users when issues arose and provided ample training on how to use and access digital content.

Approach

To ensure that all technology users in the district had multiple access points to gain the support they needed, the Director of Technology Integration rolled out the following resources and systems:

• Weekly technology updates embedded in the weekly curriculum update shared with staff. The technology updates included available trainings (both internally and externally), guidance on how to care for classroom technology, and links to book personalized support sessions via YouCanBookMe.

• Technology "town halls", which allowed for parents and staff to ask any technology related questions, which have had positive participation with the flexibility of participating via Zoom from anywhere.

• On-demand tech tutorials, including webinars, guides, and screen recordings, on how to use Zoom, Clever, Seesaw, and to problem-solve student iPad issues.
