Overview
Given that schools were responding to a complex and changing set of demands, district leaders recognized that site leaders needed more proactive, ongoing, and flexible support.
Approach
The team reimagined the central office team as a “support hub,” deploying each district-level team member to a school site for a full day a week. Assignments were targeted site-level needs (for example, budgeting or academic support), but central office personnel also leaned in as needed to offer general “all-hands” support to staff and students. During the pandemic, schools received up to three days of support a week through this approach.
