Overview
Following the COVID-19 pandemic and rapid closure of in-person schooling, it is important to think about not only the physical space students are re-entering – but also their routines, mindsets, and feelings of mental safety in order to facilitate a truly safe and supported school day. When thinking about how to build this environment, two key components need to be addressed:
- Clean working spaces
- Strong culture of mask-wearing
By thoughtfully developing elements of culture and routine around both of these key components, leaders can help ensure students, educators, and their communities feel secure when coming back to school.
