Overview
Devices are essential to blended learning, but there is little evidence that specific "makes or models" have little to no effect on learning outcomes. Beyond functionality considerations and fit with pedagogical vision as well as supports available, districts should start the device conversation with the lowest cost devices that will work within their IT structure and justify any additional costs. So long as schools and districts meet the minimum internet requirements, Chromebooks should be considered as one of the low-cost options.
