Collaborative Reflection Time

Specific allotted time for educators to iterate and improve instructional materials

Overview

At Garnet Valley School District, teachers meet after school to work on specific skills and collaborate with each other to build on, iterate, or change parts of the curriculum that do not serve their students. The protocol includes three basic steps:

  1. Identify a piece of content or a lesson that has been created.
  2. Review the item, reflect on possible iterations, and provide specific feedback based on the analysis.
  3. Identify action items to either improve on current content or build new content and allow educators to push their implementation in new ways.

Educators can also use the Digital Resource Checklist to make sure that they are aligned and reviewing and reflecting on the same metrics.
