In order to realize the promise of innovative teaching models at the student level, school and district leaders must establish system-level conditions such as: 

  • Essential Supports (e.g. tools, culture, professional learning, student supports) that allow educators to implement the design for students
  • Enabling Systems and Structures (e.g. policies, time allocation, communication, infrastructure, measurement) that lower barriers for implementation and accelerate uptake
